Summary : UPHLS joined the EmployAble project as a part of its initiative to find suitable employment for youth with disabilities. EmployAble supports the inclusion of youth with disabilities into technical vocational education and training (TVET) and its connection to the open labor market. UPHLS main goal was to guide the inclusion of all youth with disabilities in these education employment opportunities. EmployAble is an action-learning program with multiple phases. In 2013, UPHLS joined this project during the first phase. The first step was to help youth with disabilities get into vocational schools and job training. After the job training, they were aided in finding job placements. The second step took place from 2015 to 2018, focusing on the main challenge in phase one. Youth with disabilities reportedly had difficulties with transportation and long distances to the vacation schools and job training. So, the program adopted an informal form of education to eliminate unnecessary travel. students were able to start their training directly at companies and job facilities. Students would then receive certificates for their skills from external companies. The final stage of EmployAble was to start a new program, Huguka Dukore Akazi Kanoze (HDAK)(Find Here).
